Activity Log

The Activity Log provides a comprehensive audit trail of all changes made across your district. Track who made changes, when they were made, and exactly what was modified.

Accessing the Activity Log

Navigate to Activity in the main navigation menu. This link is only visible to administrators (district admins, league admins, and global admins).

What Gets Logged

The Activity Log tracks changes across four main categories:

Games

  • Game Created - When a new game is added to the schedule
  • Game Updated - Any changes to game details (date, time, teams, site, etc.)
  • Game Cancelled - When a game is marked as cancelled
  • Game Restored - When a cancelled game is restored
  • Game Deleted - When a game is permanently removed

Assignments

  • Self-Assigned - When an umpire claims an open slot
  • Admin Assigned - When an administrator assigns an umpire
  • Assignment Confirmed - When an umpire confirms their assignment
  • Assignment Declined - When an umpire declines an assignment
  • Self Removed - When an umpire removes themselves
  • Admin Removed - When an administrator removes an umpire

Users

  • User Created - When a new user account is created
  • User Updated - Changes to user profile information
  • Role Changed - When a user’s role is modified
  • User Deactivated - When a user account is deactivated

League Approvals

  • League Approved - When an umpire is approved for a league
  • League Rejected - When an umpire application is rejected

Filtering the Log

Use the filters at the top of the page to narrow down the activity:

  1. Entity Type - Filter by Games, Assignments, Users, or League Approvals
  2. Action - Filter by specific actions (e.g., only show “Game Updated” entries)

Click Clear filters to reset and view all activity.

Viewing Change Details

Click on any row to expand it and see detailed information:

  • Entity ID - The unique identifier for the affected record
  • Timestamp - The exact date and time of the change
  • Before/After Values - For updates, see exactly what changed with the old value crossed out and the new value highlighted

The Activity Log shows the most recent 100 entries. Use filters to find specific events if you’re looking for older activity.

Game History

In addition to the main Activity Log, you can view the history of changes for individual games directly on the game detail page. The History card shows recent changes including:

  • Who made changes and when
  • Field-by-field before/after comparisons for updates
  • Assignment activity (who was assigned, confirmed, or removed)

This inline history is helpful when reviewing a specific game’s timeline without leaving the page.

Use Cases

Investigating Issues

If there’s a question about a game’s schedule or assignments, check the Activity Log to see:

  • When the game was last modified
  • Who made the change
  • What the original values were

Tracking Assignment Activity

Monitor how assignments are being managed:

  • Are umpires self-assigning or being admin-assigned?
  • How often are assignments being declined?
  • Who is removing umpires from games?

User Management Oversight

Keep track of user account changes:

  • When were new users added?
  • Who changed a user’s role?
  • When was a user deactivated?

The Activity Log is read-only. You cannot undo changes from this page—it’s purely for viewing historical activity.
