Notifications

Stay informed about your assignments with Blue’s multi-channel notification system. Never miss a game or schedule change.

Notification Types

Blue can notify you about:

  • New Assignments - When you’re assigned to a game
  • Assignment Changes - Time, location, or team updates
  • Assignment Removals - If you’re removed from a game
  • Game Reminders - Upcoming game alerts
  • Game Cancellations - When games are cancelled

Notification Channels

Choose how you want to be notified:

Push Notifications

Real-time alerts on your phone or computer.

  1. Allow notifications when prompted by your browser
  2. If you accidentally blocked them, click the lock icon in your address bar and change “Notifications” from “Block” to “Allow”

Push notifications are the fastest way to get updates. Enable them for time-sensitive alerts.

If push notifications are blocked, you’ll see an alert in your Notification Preferences with instructions on how to unblock them.

Email

Detailed notifications sent to your email address.

  • Great for record-keeping
  • Includes full game details with a direct link to the game
  • Works even if you’re offline
  • View Game Details button links directly to the specific game on both desktop and mobile

SMS Text Messages

Text messages sent to your phone number.

  • Requires a valid phone number in your profile
  • You must opt-in to receive SMS notifications
  • Good for quick alerts
  • Works without internet or app access

To enable SMS notifications:

  1. Add your phone number to your profile
  2. Toggle “Receive text message notifications” in Notification Preferences
  3. Confirm your consent in the dialog that appears

Managing Your Preferences

You can update your notification settings from both desktop and mobile:

On Desktop:

  1. Go to your Profile page
  2. Scroll to Notification Preferences
  3. Toggle channels on or off for each notification type
  4. Changes save automatically

On Mobile:

  1. Tap the Profile tab
  2. Tap Notification Settings
  3. Toggle channels on or off for each notification type
  4. Changes save automatically

Each notification type can be configured independently with different channels:

  • New Assignments - Get alerts when assigned to games
  • Assignment Changes - Updates to time, location, or teams
  • Removals - Notifications when removed from assignments
  • Game Reminders - Alerts before upcoming games
  • Cancellations - Updates when games are cancelled
  • League News - Important announcements from your leagues

Changing Your Email Address

To update your email address:

  1. Go to your Profile page
  2. Click Change email in account settings under the email field
  3. Update your email in the account settings dialog
  4. Sign out and sign back in to sync the change

Your email is managed through your login account. Changes made there will automatically sync to Blue on your next sign-in.

Troubleshooting

Not receiving notifications?

  • Check that notifications are enabled in your profile
  • Verify your email address and phone number
  • Check spam/junk folders for emails
  • Ensure your browser allows notifications

If you disable all notifications, you may miss important updates about your assignments. We recommend keeping at least one channel active.
