For District AdminsPublic Game View

Public Game View

Share your game schedule publicly with coaches, parents, and fans via a dedicated URL. Visitors can view games and umpire assignments without needing to log in.

How It Works

Each district can have a public URL in the format assign.blue/d{number}/public (e.g., assign.blue/d33/public). When enabled, anyone visiting this URL sees a read-only view of your games with:

  • Game date, time, and location
  • Home and away teams
  • Assigned umpire names
  • League and division information

Setting Up Public Access

1. Configure Your District Number

  1. Go to AdminDistricts
  2. Click the Edit button on your district card
  3. Enter a unique District Number (e.g., 33)
  4. This number becomes part of your public URL

2. Enable Public Game View

In the same Edit District dialog:

  1. Toggle Enable Public Game View to ON
  2. Click Save Changes

Your public URL is now active at assign.blue/d{number}/public. Use the Copy Public URL button in the district header to copy the full URL to your clipboard.

What Visitors See

The public view shows a simplified version of the games page:

  • Header: Blue logo, “Games (public view)” title, district name, and Login button
  • Filters: Date range, status, league, division, and site filters
  • Games list: Table view on desktop, card view on mobile
  • Umpire names: First and last names of assigned umpires (no profile pictures)

What’s Hidden

For privacy and security, the public view does not show:

  • Umpire contact information or profile pictures
  • Admin controls or action buttons
  • Game notes or internal comments
  • Sign-up or self-scheduling options
  • Navigation to other app sections

Use Cases

  • Share with coaches: Give coaches a link to check umpire assignments
  • Post on league websites: Embed or link to the public schedule
  • Tournament visibility: Let visiting teams see the schedule during tournaments
  • Parent information: Parents can check when games are scheduled

Tips

  • The Login button redirects visitors to the main Blue app if they need full access
  • The Help menu provides links to documentation and support contact
  • Games marked as “cancelled” are hidden from the public view
  • Only games from active leagues in your district are displayed
