For UmpiresProfile Management

Profile Management

Your profile contains important contact information used for assignments, notifications, and league communications. Keep your profile up to date to ensure you receive timely updates about your games.

Editing Your Profile

You can edit your profile from both the desktop and mobile apps:

  • Desktop: Click your profile picture in the top right, then select Profile
  • Mobile: Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation, then tap Edit Profile

Profile Information

Basic Information

Name

  • First and last name displayed to admins and other umpires
  • Used in game assignments and notifications

Nickname (optional)

  • The name you go by, if different from your legal first name
  • When set, your nickname is used instead of your first name throughout the app — in game assignment chips, schedules, email greetings, and avatar initials
  • Your legal first name is still stored on your profile; the nickname only changes how your name is displayed

Email

  • Primary email for notifications and account access
  • To change your email, click “Change email in account settings” on your profile page

Phone Number

  • Mobile phone number for SMS notifications
  • Format: (555) 555-5555

Additional Contact

Preferred Email (optional)

  • Alternative email address if you prefer notifications sent elsewhere
  • Useful if you want work assignments to go to a personal email

Preferred Phone (optional)

  • Alternative phone number for notifications
  • Can be different from your primary phone

Emergency Contact

  • Name and phone number of emergency contact
  • Required for umpires - If you intend to officiate games, emergency contact name and phone are mandatory
  • Used in case of incidents during games
  • If you’re missing this information, you’ll see a warning banner on your profile page

Emergency contact is required for all users who plan to officiate games. If you haven’t added one, you’ll be prompted to do so before saving profile changes.

Admin-Only Option

If you’re an administrator who doesn’t plan to work games as an umpire, you can check “I do not intend to officiate” in the Emergency Contact section of your profile. This makes the emergency contact fields optional.

You can find this checkbox:

  • During signup - Above the emergency contact section
  • On your profile - In the Emergency Contact section header (visible when editing)

If you change your mind later and want to start officiating, simply uncheck this option and add your emergency contact information.

Location Information

Address (optional)

  • Street address, city, state, and ZIP code
  • May be used by admins for travel considerations or district assignments

Date of Birth

  • Used for age verification and youth umpire identification
  • Required for all umpires who intend to officiate
  • Youth umpires (under 18) must also provide parent/guardian contact information

Youth Umpire Requirements

If you are under 18 years old, Little League rules require additional safeguards:

Youth umpires must have parent/guardian contact information on file before signing up for or being assigned to games.

Required for youth umpires:

  • Parent/Guardian Name - Full name of parent or legal guardian
  • Parent/Guardian Email - Email address (parents are CC’d on all game communications)
  • Parent/Guardian Phone - Phone number for emergency contact
  • Relationship - How the contact is related to you (parent, guardian, etc.)

Optional second parent/guardian:

  • You can add a second parent/guardian if desired
  • Both parents will be CC’d on game-related emails

Your parent/guardian will automatically receive copies of all game assignment notifications, changes, and communications from league administrators. This ensures proper oversight as required by Little League policies.

Youth umpire badge: Umpires under 18 are indicated with a blue “Y” badge next to their name on game listings. This helps identify youth umpires at a glance for proper supervision.

See Youth Umpires for more information about policies and requirements.
