For UmpiresSelf-Assigning

Self-Assigning to Games

During the regular season, umpires can self-assign to games that fit their schedule. This gives you control over when and where you work.

How Self-Assignment Works

  1. Browse Available Games - Find games that need umpires
  2. Check the Details - Review the date, time, location, and teams
  3. Claim the Assignment - Click to assign yourself
  4. Receive Confirmation - Get notified that you’re assigned

Claiming a Game

To self-assign to a game:

  1. Navigate to the game schedule
  2. Find a game showing “Umpire Needed”
  3. Click on the game to open details
  4. Click Assign Me or Claim Assignment
  5. Confirm your selection

Once you claim a game, you’re committed. If you need to cancel, contact your league administrator as soon as possible.

Dropping an Assignment

If you can no longer work a game you’ve claimed:

  1. Open the game details
  2. Click Remove Assignment or Drop Game
  3. Provide a reason if requested
  4. The game returns to the available pool

Some leagues may restrict dropping assignments close to game time. Check with your league administrator about their policy.

Tournament Games

During tournaments, self-assignment is typically disabled. District or league administrators will assign umpires directly to ensure proper coverage and crew balance.
